SOBA BMC awarded scholarships to 15 outstanding students at Saint Joseph's College Sasse during a moving ceremony attended by school authorities, parents, and chapter members.
In a ceremony filled with pride and emotion, the SOBA Buea Chapter awarded scholarships to fifteen outstanding students of Saint Joseph's College Sasse on Saturday, 15th June 2024. The event took place in the school's main assembly hall and was attended by the College Principal, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ngong, school staff, parents, and a large delegation of SOBA BMC members.
The scholarship recipients, selected on the basis of academic excellence and financial need, each received a full payment of their school fees for the 2024/2025 academic year, as well as a book allowance and a personal development grant. The total value of scholarships awarded this year amounts to 3.2 million FCFA, the highest single-year disbursement in the chapter's history.
Chapter President Paul Nkemdirim, in his address, emphasized that the scholarship program is the most direct expression of the Soban brotherhood's commitment to giving back to the alma mater and ensuring that no deserving student is denied a quality education due to financial hardship.
The College Principal expressed deep gratitude to SOBA BMC, noting that the chapter's continued support over the decades has been instrumental in maintaining the college's high standards and helping the most vulnerable students remain enrolled.
