An ongoing annual scholarship program providing financial support to academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students at Saint Joseph's College Sasse.
About the Scholarship Fund
The SOBA BMC Scholarship Fund is the chapter's flagship welfare program, established to ensure that no deserving student at Saint Joseph's College Sasse is denied access to quality education due to financial hardship. The fund provides annual scholarships covering school fees, book allowances, and personal development grants.
2024 Scholarship Cycle
In 2024, SOBA BMC awarded scholarships to fifteen students, with a total disbursement of 3.2 million FCFA — the highest single-year amount in the program's history. Recipients were selected through a rigorous process involving academic records, teacher recommendations, and family financial assessments.
Selection Criteria
Academic excellence (minimum B average across all subjects)
Demonstrated financial need
Good conduct and character
Commitment to community service
How to Support
Members and well-wishers can contribute to the scholarship fund through direct bank transfer, mobile money, or at any SOBA BMC meeting. Every contribution, however small, makes a difference in a young Soban's life.
Target for 2024/2025
The chapter aims to increase the scholarship fund to support 20 students in the next academic year, requiring a total of 4.2 million FCFA. Contributions are welcomed from all Sobans and friends of Saint Joseph's College Sasse.
