Rest in Peace

Light a Candle

The passing of Dr. Bernard Nkfusai on 3rd August 2023 has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him — as a healer, a friend, a mentor, and a brother. For more than three decades, he walked the wards of Buea Regional Hospital with quiet authority and deep humanity, giving of himself without measure to every patient who came under his care. As a Soban, Bernard embodied the very best of what our college stands for. He carried the values of Sasse with him throughout his life — in the meticulous integrity he brought to his medical practice, in the generosity he showed to the less fortunate, and in the loyalty and warmth he offered to every fellow alumnus he encountered. To his beloved wife Gertrude, his children, and his grandchildren, the SOBA Buea Chapter extends its most heartfelt condolences. We hold Bernard in our memories and in our prayers, confident that he rests now in the peace he so richly deserved. Once a Soban, always a Soban — and Bernard Nkfusai was a Soban to the very end. Rest in perfect peace, brother.
